My wife and I were planning on taking a vacation in October to go to South Dakota, visit her mom, and finish moving the rest of our stuff from the storage unit there (we moved from SD to Nevada and had to leave a bunch of things in a storage unit, as a moving truck was way too expensive).
She got her vacation request approved by her manager, and mine was approved by my manager.
We bought our plane tickets a couple of days ago, thinking we're all good to go.
Nope, she called me yesterday telling me that her manager's boss denied her vacation request.
So now we're potentially out $1,000 because those airplane tickets are non-refundable, all because someone thinks Halloween is an important month for retail.
To say I'm pissed is an understatement.
My wife has been looking for a new job for months, but she's hasn't been able to land one yet, and we can't afford our apartment on just my income, so she can't quit.
