Hello everyone.
I am a security officer and would like some info on how I will get used to this type of job I got, because my body hurts especially my ankle! I also feel very dizzy and tired after work.
I have a job where I need to walk 10k steps in a day (its only 1 day out of the week like this because I have to be a “runner” and run around the buildings constantly for the team. The rest of the week its normal walking.)
So to explain I do 10k walking steps that day, and I made a count I get up 64 times in that shift. Meaning I have to go to the second building (I am in the first building) go and open a door or pick up a delivery to sign for and than walk back to the first building at my desk, just to be called again within 2 seconds to go to another part in my first building I am in. (These buildings are connected in the same place, just far stretch). I do this 64 times in a day.
So it will work like this, my colleague will tell me “we have a delivery we need you to go to the other building of the loading dock, sign for it.” I go there sign for it. “We need you to come back second floor and open a door for someone” so I go back climb stairs and open a door for security access. “We need you to come back to the office” so I walk back down to the office. “We need you to go the other building again to help watch them remove caps off a smoke detector” so I get up and go to the second building again. And so on through the 8 hours of the day.
I start at 6AM and need to wake up at 4:30AM to get there.
The question I have is, I been doing this for 2 months now (its once a week that part of the job which is my post for that day) my ankle hurts and I feel extremely tired and nap after work but still feel dizzy and out of it! Will this get better or will I get sick and just collapse? My family is telling me this is actually good for my health. But I would like to know from everyone else.
Thanks!
