Words of encouragement

As a business owner, it's been interesting to lurk on here and I see a lot different views. I think I can separate these posts into 2 categories… 1) people that genuinely want a successful career, but get into bad employment situations and 2)people that are just never going to be happy under any circumstances. There are good companies out there and you shouldn't be discouraged from working hard or “extra” to get ahead. I really can be fruitful under good management. For example, I bonus out all my salaried employees quarterly to recognize extra hours and extra effort. I have long term plans for many of my younger workers that will eventually net them very good incomes. I kind of feel there is an unspoken contract that if you make me money today then I'll hook you up later. Don't be afraid to take the long view. Loyalty is…

Also, I think it's vital for younger people to find a place that will mentor them. I turned down higher money early in my career to work with some incredible people that taught me so much. It's invaluable! Find that person or people. My favorite part of my job is watching young people develop.

Last, I find younger people (I'm 45 lol) so interesting. Your priorities and approach to work is very different. You are also the most intelligent and in-touch group of people this planet has ever seen. I hope to be around long enough to how you shape this country/world.
