Okay so I posted here a bit ago, link to previous post below,
In that post I mentioned that I was working part time and would get a permanent position if someone was to leave or whatever, basically one of my colleges got a (in my opinion, a really good job opportunity) and left in the middle of January, therefore a position opened up meaning I’d get full time/permanent position now, right? Wrong! In fact there has been a new person hired and already starting their position :), I’m going to speak to my boss about this next time I see them which will be this week, any advice on what to say and how to not sound like a bitch? I was basically told in my contract I would get permanent if someone left and now it’s changed? My colleges were telling me they have probably forgotten the deal but I think that’s really f’ed up as it’s not something small like forgetting to send out the rota or maybe forgetting to check if a dates free for a holiday, they’ve went through an entire hiring process and not once thought about me? Bit odd in my opinion, some of them are saying maybe they thought I was happy doing what I was doing (part time) but in my opinion and offer would still be nice?!?! Maybe I’m wrong about thinking that? I really don’t know but I’m gonna speak to them about it (although I really shouldn’t have to as as a manager you should remember these things) but yeah just needed a rant and advice on what to do/ bring up in the talk?
Apologies if my words are bad, typing isn’t my strong point :/
