Found this a bit interesting. My work place is not allowing us to take sick time for a sick child. If you are staying home due to a child's sickness we are required to take vacation time. I'm wondering if this is because they pay out vacation time end of year and not sick time. They changed our handbook policy on sick time as well. They also have the canned company response about you can't talk about salary but added. My work place has treated me fairly the last few years, so I won't make a big stink about it but not letting us take sick time if we have to stay home with sick child feels wrong.
