Idk if this is exactly relevant to this community but I work at a place where schedules for the next few weeks are posted. I have an operation that has to be done later today (as of time of posting) which is also a work day for me. I told my manager a week in advance as soon as I knew about my operation and then I got told that I can't be asking for things like this as I would have to tell them in advance ahead of time before the schedules are even released. I didn't even know before the schedules were published about my operation time
My manager did say that if I am able to come in that I would be able to work the remainder of my shift without the chance for me to compensate for the missed hours
Am I wrong or is something else wrong as I expected a bit more consideration in regards to personal emergencies and time off
