Essentially, I’m an assistant manager. I was promised the store manager position but my regional manager hired someone new and just lied that the position would be mine when I decided to take over. She didn’t tell anyone that the new manager was coming in so everyone felt blindsided. The new manager has been working here for a couple months and she has decided to quit. Today, so much shit spilled about how horribly our location is treated. We get paid $3 less than the surrounding stores even though we make almost triple the profit of them. It was also revealed that during the planned renovation, we will be without work for 2-3 weeks. Everyone flipped out in the group chat, which I encouraged and joined in with. I got bitched out by my regional manager, which I was prepared for. She told me that the information was incorrect and she would show me a pay slip from one of the other stores. My district manager stopped by and he couldn’t even deny that the other stores were paid more, which confirmed it. I’m currently the only one who knows how to run the store so I don’t think I’ll get fired, but I’m looking for other jobs. I know a lot of employees planning to quit. I adored this job honestly, but I cannot deal with her. She makes my work environment a living nightmare; she’s also the reason my new manager is quitting.
