Working notice and found out my replacements will get more than me!

I’m a Dispensing Optician/Retail supervisor at a UK Opticians. I recently got offered a position at a different opticians as just a DO for a pay rise so I naturally jumped at it. Less commute, less stress and a payrise? I’d be a fool not to. While working my 3 months notice the store said they were recruiting to replace as it’s almost a business necessity to have a DO in the store (especially when the one leaving has nearly 20 years experience…). I was doing both roles for 26k, having taken on the supervisor roles as they needed doing, but been told on numerous occasions that there was no budget for salary increases.
So they’ve just been taking the piss for the last 10 years? And then wonder why I’m leaving?
Still it’s nice to know that their franchise profit share is going to take a huge hit because they couldn’t take a small hit to pay me properly.
