If you've been following the news lately, there's a revolution happening in Iran against the Islamic Regime. I won't get to the details but men and women and young as 14 years old are being brutally murdered and Sexually Assaulted by the Islamic Republic for protesting their freedom of choice.
The internet was shut down by the government and I couldn't work for a week or two before the shutdown was withdrawn and I could access my work folders through VPNs.
I have been putting things on hold. Everytime I want to get back to work, I get reminded of the revolution I'm in. I feel for my people. Businesses are going on strike. It seems quite unfair for me to attend work like nothing is happening.
My direct boss told me that if my Internet connection has issues, maybe I should look for another job. We're releasing version 2.0 of our application and I must stay and work 24 hours if that's what it takes for me to finish my job. My job should not be affected by my emotions and the crisis that's happening around me.
I also got shit from the CEO for “a lack of creativity in the past few weeks”.
This is absolutely insane and I don't know what do to. A part of me wants to quit and not put up with this bullshit anymore. But on the other hand, I need to make money and not be a burden to my parents (I'm 21 female, college student, live with my parents)
Any advice?
