I applied to this job by spamming job postings on Craig’s List because I can’t find myself to individually apply for jobs by writing a custom CVs or perform those awful Indeed quizzes.
This was one of two jobs that got back with me and both jobs were toxic and high hourly salary.
I decided to keep looking, but so far no luck. One week later, the owner of the company called me back to see if I was still interested. THIS NEVER HAPPENS. I knew they must of been very desperate so was I, except I made it known I need a good salary.
Starting off in the company seemed fairly normal. I was trained for two whole days with the Accountant to get me going with learning how to do the job as a Scheduler. There was another person on the same department as myself and she taught me everything as well as the Accountant. My job became ridiculously easy once I learn how to perform the tasks only for the company to fire my coworker and dump all of her tasks on me… and then they dumped more work on me for jobs that aren’t in my department. I’m terrified to work with the Electrical Manager because he looks and acts like a psychopath. He is always telling me jokes or stories that relate to violent abuse, his fucked up childhood, and how he’s not afraid to go back to jail. He never made any direct threats to me except that he wouldn’t hurt me because I’m handicap.
He’s beginning to mess with me because I need his help with how to do the Electrical jobs or to schedule them as if I was an Electrician or the customer knew exactly what the problem was… He’s beginning to tell me I messed up the entire schedule and he has to fix it for me… he doesn’t work in my department and nothing was logged of him making any changes and the schedule was fine. He is threatening wage theft because I am wasting the company’s money on gas and the tech’s time and labor. He’s making me feel uncertain about my job and he isn’t my boss. He admits that the past Schedulers hated him too and would freak out.
I don’t know if my boss is buddies with him to report him because he’s been with the company longer than me… I’m afraid if I do, it would make my time at the company worse or life threatening. I can’t quit either because I have a $5k bill to pay for my car….
I’m already quit quitting the Electrical jobs by not responding to these customers and sweeping them under the table. I know they can’t fire me at least yet, because they were 4 months without a Scheduler making those who work the longest with the company to share the tasks. They only fired my coworker because they saw me as more capable and found a way to cut back on salary cost for the company by making me do everything.
