Wrong order received, boss wants to keep.

I work for a large company. Another department received a computer order similar to items that they were going to purchase, but nobody from the other department ordered the items. Boss has decided the items could be used at our site and I receive an email sent to the IT department and myself and managers, that (Sender A) is forwarding the items to our site, the (Sender A) said that IT department should go through set-up with me as I may not have current access. (Sender A) orders and logs items for their location and I order and log items for my location. Going through the forwarded email trail there is an PO number mentioned which I can not locate on our ordering system, however I believe I can only search my departments orders.
