Wtf Trader Joe’s

Hi, going to keep this vague as I do not want to get my partner in trouble. Based on the post you're about to read, they do not deserve consequences, but they're really being fucked around by Trader Joe's and the company is clearly being inconsiderate / careless. We are in New York. She works 3 days a week, and w/o warning, was dropped to only 1 day a week– even tho their store policy requires a minimum of 3 days a week. She talked to her manager today about said policy, and apparently it's a “basis” they go off of, and doesn't include all workers (something she wasn't informed of when hired, just that she HAD to work 3days/every week). Now she's in a position where the 4 days she works A MONTH at Trader Joe's does not cover her rent. Are we being lied to about the store…

Mgmt blamed it on the “slow season” and said it's basically happening to everyone– which isn't true. My partner also met a new hire today, almost directly after this bullshit meeting. The only other person she knows who's hours have been cut is constantly raw dogged by this company– aka has worked there for 3yrs with no promotion or opportunity to advance, which I really can't comprehend. She was leading an entire department and when asked for the official promotion, was yoinked from the department.

  • My partner also has NO fucking way to contact their schedule person, manager, and HR because this store location apparently doesn't give out those numbers?? I've never worked anywhere this wasn't mandatory.

  • LITERALLY TODAY they changed her schedule w/o letting her know and she came into work an hour early .-.

  • store also denied her request off to go to a grandparent's funeral

  • manager's advuce was call the store every morning for open shifts. Partner has worked here for 7 months. What the fuck?

What the fuck do we do?? Like I do not want my partner to continue to he bullied and taken advantage of at this store. She's in tears and does not know how to pay rent this month. Any help is greatly appreciated!
