Weeeew do I have a story. In high school a restaurant in my rural town (I've since moved) was “always looking for and eager to interview new workers”. It's not that upscale but their dress code is “dressy yet casual” and as they put it “the only blazers should be on our staff” so this isn't a T-shirt and jeans place. I applied, handed in the application and the owner says “hey yeah I'll let Rachel know you're coming in for an interview. She'll be in the apartment upstairs.” So I arrive for an interview and she has NO clue who I am. When I tell her I was sent for an interview she looks at me and says “right right. I have a lot to do with this paperwork, I can't help you.” So I asked if I should come back, and her response was “I'm BUSY CATCHING UP ON BILLS we can't have anymore employees.” I left my name, address, cell # and a current employees name with her and walked home. I told one of the owners exactly verbatim what happened and “She told you W H A T????” to which he runs upstairs and I went home the moment I hear a screaming match. They closed years later, and from what I heard they had to choose between rent and paychecks. They chose neither.
