“You can’t just not come in because you don’t feel like working” but I can

It started by complaining about how poorly the oven functions at the job that I'm on my way out of and contemplating whether or not I want to work brunch next weekend My supervisor said that I can't just not come in because I don't feel like working and it's like what are they going to do? I'm quitting They can't force me to come in, at will employment works both ways. There are financial and potential future career repercussions for leaving a job mid shift or otherwise quitting without notice but they aren't allowed to physically stop you from doing that I actually did tell my manager that a 2 weeks notice would be mother's day and I'm not doing that there and he said this upcoming weekend is super busy so today ended up being my last brunch shift there
