Antiwork

13 days ago i got laid off from a tech company I worked at for 1.5 years, but it turned out to be the best thing that happened to me

On the first day, I was extremely upset, because I knew what is waiting for me. After endless hours of sending CV and getting the templated message: “unfortunately we decided to move on with other candidates” Hours spent on driving, just to talk to some random woman who would ask me “what type of animal are you?” etc But no, after gaining a few years of experience it seems like the game has changed, now, i'm the one getting the phone calls, i'm the one saying “sorry but I'm continuing with other companies”, i'm the one who's requesting 20-25% raise. I AM THE ONE WHO KNOCKS. I just landed a contract, about 20% higher salary from my previous work, and 20 minutes away instead of 60-75 minutes.
