I work in a language school, so I don’t know how common this is. I’ve been consistently working full-time for about 3 months now when I decided I needed to take a breather. I spoke to the Director of Studies of the school asking to reduce my working hours. I only asked for one free period in the morning. And now I’ve been cut from both classes. But this week I was put on standby which I’m paid for, this was in the morning, but I had a 2 hour free period which was unpaid. This was 3 days out of the 5-day week.
Is this normal?
I’m planning on leaving anyway due to the shitty management and lack of care and respect towards teachers. (Also my students are assholes).
