In the UK the new Tory coalition state tried to go full assault against neetdom, a series from around that time in 2010/2011 shows a “back to work club” in Liverpool with the presenter Hayley Taylor just loving the new restrictions against claimants, quite condescending kind of an employment version of the Supernanny, then she bosses herself round their houses telling them things like they shouldn't smoke at home, at one point she asks someone if they know what a dictionary is.
3m45seconds in Episode 4, Hayley Taylori is almost getting off on reading out the welfare reforms!
Quite an interesting watch that shows the right wing drive against people not wanting to be forced into the rat race, it was also at a time in the UK when many tabloid headlines were stirring up hate against benefit claimants (eg Daily Mail – “Mansions for Scroungers”).
At the time also ATOS was being used to try and push people off sickness benefits into the full conditionality Jobseekers Allowance (to be replaced with Universal Credit as the Tens went on), where they would be more likely to have to do a job club like Hayley Taylor's.
