As people that lived through 2010’s know financial crisis ended up giving employers around the world great advantage because the boomers (largest generation ever) are forced to at the very least pause their retirement just as big chunk of millennials (2nd largest generation ever) entered the labor market in a time where general economy is reeling from the worst downturn since the Great Depression.
That fact alone ensures that any company have flexibility to fire everyone/ press for a wage stagnation & decline under a lie known as “jobs guarantee”.
But we know 2010’s passed away years ago and the boomers do aged pass their life expectancy + pandemics killing off the older people forcing this company to fill up a lot of empty role when the newest generation that just entered labor market that’s (Zoomers) is the smallest generation ever (in most developed & some countries millennials & Zoomers are actually an extinct species) as the economy proven to recover from pandemic faster than post 2008 economic recovery.
While offshoring is quiet possibly out of the question since China is one of those place where Zoomers & millenials are extinct species + everyone in India migrate outside India the moment they got the chances making retaining a skilled workforce an massive difficulty on it’s own.
Workers never have this much of leverage since Black Death and that results in a wage base compensation system that essentially ended the serfdom.
So make your employers do a bidding war against other company for your wages, join any union strike in your workplace, threatened to resign & outright go ahead with those threat because you absolutely can afford do it.
