I’m laying awake dreading morning. I work at a public high school in the special ed department. Every day I get punched and scratched and bit and pinched. I come home with marks all over my body. I have made the principal aware of what’s going on but there’s not much to be done. I’m late every day because it’s hard to get out of bed, and I get a talking to for it. Could anyone blame me, I get less than 1000 bucks a month getting traumatized for a living. Been applying for new jobs but never get answers. Isnt there some sort of law about this? I’ve filed 3 injury reports in as many weeks for my bruises but nothing has come of it. I am at zero dollars with zero patience. If anyone has insight on what I could do, it would be appreciated.

this has irked me throughout my entire time in retail employment. you’ll have done everything you’ve needed too, the shop will be empty and you just want to stand there waiting for something or a customer. then the manager will get angry that you’re standing doing nothing and would rather you found pointless jobs like brushing the floor 7 times or fixing things on the shelves. what’s wrong with just standing about? there’s nothing to do! why must i always be trying to find silly tasks just so i look better to management, or the customers? i don’t know if it’s a pet peeve or what. but it really irks me to my core. leave me BE! i get paid MINIMUM WAGE and the planet is dying and we are on verge of nuclear war. let me stand staring into space for 5 minutes damn. i got shit to think…
a few years ago my father started driving for an app called Uber. im sure everyone knows what that is so ill leave that there. my father is a hard working and caring man that im proud to call my dad, he owned his own company before he lost everything after he drained his bank account to pay for his workers medical bills after he fell off a roof. with no other job opportunities, he started driving for Uber, it's not that he was underqualified for a better job, he was just not white. as he started working for Uber i noticed a visible change in my dad and the way he acted. he became irritable, angry, depressed. he was getting paid in literal pennies for working a 20 hour work day. he would leave at 5 am and not return until midnight or 1 in the morning. he was…

Doesnt makes scenes does it?
I took a visit to Nairobi Kenya and was surprised my 30 minute Uber ride to the mall was only 3 dollars and apparently there is a cheaper app to request transportation meanwhile the groceries at the supermarket were more expensive than what it is in Canada. Places like that are literally survival you have people hustling in the street to sell whatever they can to eat for the day.
A story they told me today: One employee was meant to be clocking off early to take their kid to a job trial or something. Another employee came back from break in pain and needing to see a doctor because she was literally defecating blood but got yelled at because the appointment time was about half an hour before work ended. She left anyway because, y'know, screw management, she's going to the doctor. She then got yelled at by a the coworker who was meant to be leaving early as she could no longer leave. They both would have been fine to knock off early because they had another employee still there to answer the phones… except that is the Favourite Employee who cracks the shits when she has to work on her own even though literally every other employee gets made to suck it up and deal with working…
