I’ve been at my current job just over a year and the turnover is wild. We’ve lost like 8 people in the last year. Every time someone leaves, I’m forced to take on some of their old workload with zero incentive or compensation, not even as much as a lousy gift card or even a thank you. So serious question, what’s the alternative? What’s an exit strategy that doesn’t involve this unfair process? And can I just start refusing the extra work? TIA!

I left my last job as an assembler, hours were long and it was not what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I went back and renewed my CNA certificate. Within hours of putting my self up on indeed I got flooded with jobs. In the healthcare field you can e very picky with were you work. I landed on a memory care facility. It doesn’t pay the most, but they always try their hardest to be fully staffed, giving bonuses for picking up extra shifts or paying a premium for agency nurses. In the rare case that we may be short. they will add the hours that are left over to who ever had extra patients. They have also been very acomodating with my schedule. I’ve seen “so relatable”, “take my money”, “we see you”, “that face when ____”, the girl looking at her man in disgust as he looks at another girl, etc, etc. How about you fucking let us enjoy these things without you constantly fucking ruining them?

Yeah…and no wander why they desperately need people but the real reason why they lost people is because you arnt offerring any PTO whatsoever. It's like, how in the fuck is someone supposed to have a life outside of work without a day off or so? This is the equivalent of working yourself into the God damn grave once you hit the burn out stage. And it's all down hill from there…
