Like… bitch, the fuck do you care? You only want me for my cheap labour don't you? Why does it matter to you what am I going to do with that laughable amount you'll give me in the end? You won't hire me if I tell you I'm going to spend it on myself and all the little things in life that makes it somewhat more bearable here for me, will you? If I don't say I'm going to save every little penny I find after paying the mandatory rental, bills and food so I can be prepared for an upcoming tough time, I won't give off the rEsPoNsIbLe PrOfEsSiOnAl vibe you are so eager to fill your team with. A team of semi skilled cashiers and cooks in a fast food restaurant for context. I can't fucking believe we have to ask people why do they need money in…

Apply online, submit a resume/LinkedIn profile, wait for weeks on end for a response, and then ghost them after 1-2 interviews. I guarantee you the entire application process for many companies would change to something much more reliable really fucking quick.
So, I was working in my call center shitty job as a Floor Support and the OM sent me a DM with a meeting saying HR needed me in 2 mins. They told me the campaign decided to terminate my contract without cause, no further explanation. I was shocked and asked if it was related to my performance or a task, they said no, I was doing really good. Then I asked if I said something that might have hurt someone or something like that, they said nothing about that kind has been reported so far. I messaged the OM asked what was going on, he said “Hey, it was not related to your performance. Let me get you a quick context: I had a boss that was really rude and we had 4 times everyone noticed his attitude towards me, I reported it to the OM and asked him…

Ahead of his time. Anyways, I've been helping my son with a lot of humanities courses in university. I was broadly horrified by the sheer Jordan Peterson-ness of the Classics (Plato, Socrates, Aristotle, et al). I was a lot more heartened by the stuff he had to read starting in the 18th century, where philosophers started to get their sh*t together vis-a-vis the industrialization of man. He just had to compare and contrast Rousseau and Marx, and I'm pretty sure my son was just radicalized more effectively than I could have ever done. Anyone have any other good 'classical' readings?
THAT’S your concern?!
Work in a warehouse/grocer stocking merch. Been noticing since I was hired that the pallets our distribution center sends are often stacked very dangerously and poorly (too high, leaning/unbalanced, product falls on us when we unwrap/break down, heavy items crushing delicate items which we then have to write off). Brought this to the attention of multiple supervisors and the store manager, and was dismissed by all saying, “We've already tried to talk to them, photos won't do any good, it is what it is.” Ended up sending a bunch of photos to our safety department and opened a case with them. Their concern was the ergonomics of it. Didn't give a fuck about losing product or stuff falling on people. Today we had a pallet that was stacked entirely too high and it ended up falling over while being moved off of the truck. By sheer luck I was on…
I've been working in blue collar jobs my whole life and I'm currently trying to get into remote work. However, all the job offers I see on Indeed or LinkedIn seem like scams. When I do see some they are usually data entry or call center. It would be nice if there were more entry level options to get hired from.
