I’m a long time lurker, but I’m in need of some legal advice regarding labor laws. I work in a shop that serves beverages in Illinois as it’s “manager”. I set hours, oversee employees, and work in the store alongside them. I usually work 60+ hour weeks with no days off for multiple weeks in a row. The owners have said that I am “salaried” for a certain amount each week, but they change the amount they pay me based on hours worked (e.g. 40 hours = 600, 50 hours = 800, etc.). Under Illinois law, this qualifies me as an hourly employee. Are they allowed to change my base hourly pay each week so that the “salaried” amount is equivalent to the hourly rate with overtime included?

She was hired as a receptionist. She was there for a week. If you want a cleaner, hire a fucking cleaner, don't hire a receptionist and then get mad that they aren't cleaning to your standards.
I apologize if this isn't the right place for this so mods feel free to remove it if necessary, but I need to vent. So i went into my workplace Friday morning to stand up for myself and explain why I've been so severely depressed (not sure what I was hoping to accomplish). I get through everything I need to say and I'm sitting in my boss's office in tears and He tells me “I think you need jesus,I really do.” So now I'm both anxious and angry to see what genius shit they will tell me on Monday, because you know atheist aren't a protected status. Rant over.
Boss claims we have about 4-7 paid holidays per year- Memorial Day, Labor Day, Xmas Eve, New years Eve. Historically, we also have had 2-3 snow closures per year. Xmas and New Years are Sundays, which my workplace is closed regardless. Now, I work a 5 day work week. Sunday off for everybody, and I get 1 day off each week in addition. My day off is Wednesday. If my boss just closes work on these holidays but makes me work on my usual day off (WED), then I'm still working my full work week…. This essentially means that the holidays are NOT paid days off. WA state mandates 1 hour of Paid Sick Leave per 40 hours worked, so I accrue 60+ hours of PSL per year, so in a sense, I get 1 week of “Paid Time Off”, but so does everybody else…
