I made a post earlier but now I have a general story for my graphic novel, it goes: Our main character is a blue collar worker in his 30’s He is a perfect employee. He arrives early, skips breaks, and works overtime to impress his boss. He was taught that if he worked hard, followed rules, and was a good citizen, he would be rewarded. He notices that the prices on the shelves have gone up, and he is excited, thinking that he’ll get a raise soon, if not for his “amazing work ethic”, then to account for inflation. The work that they do could be something that is considered unskilled, but society relies on. His raise turns out to be a pay cut considering inflation. He’s always dreamed of starting a family, but he isn’t ready financially. He is not moving up his company either, despite his hard work.…

Are we in a depression?
The cost of goods, food, gas, living, everything is constantly going up. My gf did some reading into the Great Depression and unemployment peaked at 25%. At the year 3 mark unemployment was 15% which is where we are currently at now.
I don't consider myself religious personally hence the question, life is just easier if I join my wife in church once every month or two
Long story short, I have been working at a medium sized multi million dollar company and have only seen a $1 pay increase in my over 2 years of employment here. Im fed up with contiuing being led on. If I dont get a decent raise I am walking out
I have been out of work for 3 months. I've given up applying for software jobs (2 years experience) and started applying for mechanic jobs (5 years experience running my own shop). I have heard from several companies that they won't hire me to be a mechanic because they think I will leave for a software job. I have bills I have to pay and I can't get interviews even for changing oil because I worked a desk job. I don't hold any current certifications or degrees and can't afford to get any. How does this make any sense I want to work and they don't want me. Morons! These companies are run by morons. They'd rather find someone who doesn't have experience who might be bad at their job and might just ghost them than someone who knows what they are doing and needs work.
You’re not understanding…
So I worked at this bar Casks and Flights. It's been a lot of drama so I don't even know where to start. The owners basically think they own their employees. They'll text and call at 6am or whenever that we're not even open to complain about every little thing, all while paying minimum wage and hosting all manner of events where the clientele don't feel the need to tip for some reason. To top it off, the owners are former FWB and are constantly complaining about each other. Lady Boss likes to refer to Guy Boss' current girlfriend as “GB's whore”. She even tried firing one of our bartenders because apparently she caught GB looking at her? It's seriously the least professional environment I've ever been part of. And these are also the kinds of owners who will show up during big events and see us be swamped like…
It’s seems like people have this perception that they “need” someone in there presence at all times. My computer at now bringing out the web cams and think it’s not needed. Me in particular has meetings every week and that is not needed in my opinion. Went to first meeting and as expected random talking I don’t like. When that happens it’s gets personal and then that’s when the workplace is ruin. I think I’m a introvert. Thoughts on this ?
