Hi there I’ve recently started at my new job. I’m cleaning and I get a weird pay but I don’t think it’s worth it and I’ve been trying to find a new job. I’ve been working in this one job location where it’s constantly hot even with aircon on and it’s still plus 40 degrees everyday, I’ve been getting heat exhaustion because of it and it’s a lot of work and has caused me to not be able to complete the rest of my shifts because of the heat. Is it even reasonable to continue working in these conditions? it doesn’t seem to be getting any better( I have complained to the boss before but the owner of the place doesn’t seem to realise how bad it is) I’ve been physically exhausted at the end of every shift. It’s very hard to find another job at the moment for me…

Recently started freelance work!
I recently quit my old job, it was some boring phone-line thing, the pay wasn't great but not as bad as some jobs (above minimum wage, but not by a huge amount), it's not the worst job in the world but definitely not something I'm great at. However, I've been working on starting a freelance job for a while now, essentially I'm doing amateur photography. It's got inconsistent working hours, mainly as it's completely random when I'll be contacted, might be a few times a week, might be once every 2 weeks. But the tradeoff there is the money I get, which is around £120-£150 an hour! Honestly, this is pretty cheap for a freelance photographer though, looking at professional work such as wedding photography, they'd earn at least 3-5 times as much per event. But I'm charging less entirely as I want to go the amateur route, as I…
To the advertisers on tinder
Or any app or website for that matter. Your click ratings are only a measure of how many times people have accidentally tapped next to the X. We aren’t watching and if we were we wouldn’t be interested. Your advertising doesn’t work. I realise this isn’t exactly anti work but I feel like it’s in the same spirit, let the mods/commenters decide.
I hate working, period. But I still need to pay the bills. I had a previous post on here how bad my current job is. I literally almost passed out the other day when we’re still having a meeting at 6 pm and I didn’t end that day until 10 pm. Any how, I want to quit but I still want to work for money of course. My friend works at Prada and she tells me one of her coworkers made 90k last year. I made 80k wtf. Should I do it? I’d rather stand all day and fight with customers than literally dying from work.
Do you have labor laws in the US?
Hi I used to be a lawyer here in Brasil specialized in labor laws. I wonder what and if there are labor laws in your contries and how do they work? Here in Brasil there's a document called a CTPS (something like “Labor Registration”). If you're hired as an employee you must be registered by using this document, and you get some benefits, like these: a) 30 days vacation, with a bonus of 33% over your salary. Vacations must be paid 2 days before they are granted. b) Thirteenth salary: in december you get an aditional salary. If you are fired before that you get a payment proportional to the number of months you have labored in that year (only months when you labored 15+ days count). c) FGTS: each month, your employer deposits 8% of your salary's value in an special account. If you're fired with no justification, they…
Uhh..thanks
How is the average person supposed to afford that? That’s assuming a parasitic landlord doesn’t get there first. Let’s do the math $15/hr*40hrs=600 a weekx52=30k a year. If you saved 100% of that it would take 8.5 years to pay it off. Of course you can’t do that with other expenses and shit. And public transportation is bad/you wouldn’t want to ride it meaning a car is pretty much a necessity. So you’re telling me to participate in society i gotta make 4500 a month to reasonably afford a $1500 rent/mortgage yet everybody is debating if $15 is a fair minimum wage? Then deem people essential and pay them even less? How is this remotely worth it? Why can’t we have affordable housing? I don’t want to spend my life trying to aquire housing money when I never asked to be here in the first place. This system is whack.…
