I want to call out of work today..
I have a few reasons.. The owners recently sold to a corporation and the managers were left in charge. There's nepotism and lack of working. The GM is on salary so she'll schedule herself for shifts that aren't normal so she can do the least amount of work possible. Like why does everyone else have to be there at 6am, but she can roll in around 11am? Completely not fair. Then her BFF other manager barely does any work and gets away with it. More than once my check was short or I didn't get it in time. I worked from 8am-7pm yesterday and have to be back at 7am and I'm exhausted, my body is stiff and aching. I basically closed alone last night (work at a dog day care so ALOT of cleaning involved) while the managers say at the front all buddy buddy. Multiple of my coworkers…
As background, I am a 25m entry-level data analyst living in Turkey. I graduated from the translation department of one of the top colleges in the country, it is Japanese-English-Turkish translation, but coding and data suited me more. So I switched careers. 3 days ago I got offered a job from a mid-sized data company from Germany that okay'd the remote working situation. The problem is the pay. They offered me € 1000 a month for 5 days a week, 9-5 acc. to my timezone. Bcz of the terrible economy of Turkey, this money still will let me live a pretty good life but I know a few friends similar in competency and education/experience background to me, and they get paid at least 3 times more than me. So I don't want to overstep anything and lose a possibly good resume material and foreign currency salary option. I have been…
The question's pretty much in the title: things are really becoming unbearable for most people, and I just don't see this lasting forever. Also where are the super rich going to hide if hundreds of millions / billions end up being driven (potentially, this is not me saying this is a good or bad thing obviously) by a murderous frenzy against the real elites, in order to get back what they believe is theirs by right? What happens at that point, will there be a war between the 99.9% and the 0.1% in the foreseeable future? Will there be manipulation from the aforementioned elites in order to cause a divide and a civil war? Is this an auto lose for the people or is there some hope? In other words: is there a way out of this that would benefit the 99.9% of us? NB: I'm intentionally talking about the…
Lost my job today
Throwaway because internet be wildin: Today I was pulled into a meeting to discuss my annual review. In said meeting, I was informed that for the last year I’ve been not living up to the firms expectations and was accused of not performing my job duties, essentially for the length of time I’ve been working. This is contrary to every quarterly feedback form I’ve received and every quarterly review I’ve had, so to say this came out of left field is a bit of an understatement. They tried to place me on a PiP, which for any of you that are familiar with software jobs, this is basically a railroad to fire me. This essentially leaves me with no other option but to resign. I’d recently requested FMLA leave due to some unforeseen issues that have cropped up in the last few months and they dragged their feet in approving…
I'm seeing a LOT less “Antiwork has a problem with racists/Nazis antivaxxers aren't welcome no cOvIdIoTs in our subreddit” diversion and division as of late, compared to the lead up to the interview when this sub was FIIILLLLEEEDDD with posts that had NOTHING TO DO with antiwork. That's how you know they won, the shills are gone and this sub isn't in the news anymore. They succeeded in dividing and weakening us, not just that interview but the fucking constant stream of shill posts turning everybody against eachother…. They weakened us the same exact way they destroyed Occupy Wall Street. Used the same tactics. And it fucking worked. I hope you all are proud of yourselves, anybody that took part in that bullshit period of Antiwork history. Nice job.
Infinite inflating poem
Boss makes a dollar, i make a dime, Putin starts a war, inflation soaring thru the sky, Oligarchs and capitalists gauge costs a thousand time. Landlord increases rent, cant put payment down, with pennys in my hand, groceries passing by, cant afford food, social help got denied. Growling stomach and tiered mind, my physician say, i should take some vacation time. I wish i could, but my boss needs me, to piss in a bottle can now, as i deliver this expensive sweatshop gown to the rich family mom. Beaten and defeated, my family is waiting for some better time, No one to cover shift and without overtime, i get called to emergency meeting, at my own free time. But im so tired, i cant be complaining, this modern slaving must be a crime ? But here i am, standing proud, for my boss has a new house and a…
