Apologies for formatting, on mobile. So the past few months at me and my roommate's job have been quite stressful. All within two months we got our hours cut, new owners took over, and then, our pay got cut. We both work as dishwashers at a restaurant/bar, which may not seem that important, but that's quite far from the truth. As dishwashers, we clean everything for everyone. This includes plenty of other tasks besides dishes. Usually we got done with everything by the time kitchen was done. Our typical shifts would last 6-7hrs on weekdays and 8-9hrs on weekends and we were paid $15/hr. We made just enough each month to pay rent and other necessities. But in January things started going downhill. The old owner of the place had no idea how to run a restaurant or a bar, let alone a combo. Coworkers constantly complained about him and…

Who else has a bullshit job?
So what is even the point of job fairs?
Ladies, Gents and the everyone in-between I heard about this sub on the internetverse Do you all hate working or just have shitty jobs/employers?
My wife works as a graphic designer in a marketing firm. She's great at her job and has never had anything but glowing reviews from her boss and a subsequent raise. This year however, she got her review, which was very good, but she was told that even though everyone else was getting a salary increase, she was not. When she asked why, her boss told her, “There's only so much in the budget for salary increases and since your husband is an engineer and makes good money, you don't need it unlike the men here.”. I was completely gobsmacked. That's just so fucked up. It just makes me so angry. I mean, I am an engineer and I do make good money, but that's not a reason to sell her short. I've told her she could just quit and look for something else, but she's worried that could take…
What do I get? 2am shifts every day on Tuesday and wensday. I am a uni student that they've put on 38 hours a week. Apparently it's my fault because I didn't manually make changes to my shift availability however its a 2 week minimum to do so and I started this week. I don't really have a choice because it's very hard to find employment and I don't have a car. I need the job to get a car and I need a car to get a better job.
You want a 5% raise? Beg for it!
Straight from the front lines of the working people. After two years of no raises but increasingly more work, I talked to my manager about a pay raise. We use a system of numbers and letters to determine your pay class – mine is G1 and I wanted to be moved to G2. Two things happened. He started to laugh and reminded me that every position has a pay range. If my position doesn't go beyond G1, I won't get a raise – period. Of course he didn't know the range, so he blew that off for next week. Here's the kicker, the difference is 5% – pre-tax. After taxes it would be a whooping 4.3% raise. And he is acting like it's the biggest favor of his to consider it. The meeting concerning a yes or no will be next week. If he refuses, I'll have to either drop…
I’m gonna omit a lot of details here just in case, ya know. I work a somewhat unconventional but common job that entails me working in my employers home while they work from home. Their post claims I am 5-10 min late to work everyday and leave right on the dot or sometime 5 min early (literally ONE TIME) I am not 5-10 minutes late everyday. Maybe 3-5. Most jobs I’ve ever had offer a grace period. I will admit that I am just chronically 5 fucking minutes late everywhere but I show up and I do my job and do it well. As a semi jokingly side note —— I don't even believe in any morality to punctuality or the concept of “lateness' because time itself is fraudulently calculated. I've also seen some righteously on time people never actually show up at all, just there in principal, lmao. The…
