Yep posted the below to my LinkedIn. I wanted to share with you all as antiwork has helped me see things that I kept a blind eye to for my career. I do not leave anything out as this is the exact post. Also, there is a link at the bottom to my new podcast that centers around helping others find their passion and will help them achieve it. I’d appreciate a listen and some feedback. Wanted to wait a few days before I made this post. I left my position at Onshore Outsourcing after nine years with the company last Friday. It was nerve racking, but at the same time, it was needed. I was ready to move on and I wasn't needed anymore, so I left. Wanted to give everybody a couple pieces of advice from what I have learned over my time there. Never Deify a Company…

Interviews
What’s the most you are willing to do for an interview? I recently applied for a position that was an entry level shipping and handling job. I’ve done this before and the pay was $19 but the schedule was insane. It was 5 AM to 5 PM or longer depending on if the shipping was done for the day. I was very hesitant because this seemed like a high burnout job but I figured I’d work there for a few months and rake in some extra cash for a deposit on a better apartment and be looking for a better job during that time. I got a call asking if I could do a phone interview. I said yes and they did it on the spot. They said I passed the “first round” and would send me details of what to do next. That seemed very ominous to me and…
My last post about this issue Fyi, I have already filed a report about me not getting breaks on time to the Illinois Dept of Labor because of what my director said. For a short recap, last week I had an incident with the center director at the daycare I work at about how to go about my breaks. I said I wanted them done according to the state laws (I live in Illinois) and my center director got upset with me for constantly exercising my right. The conversation didn't go anywhere, so I made a report and called my regional director but she never answered. So, the reason I'm posting this today is because I did talk to my regional director. She was at my center and pulled me into the office to talk about breaks. We even read the guidelines posted in the break room that say “Illinois…
I started working for a big farmacy that supplies retirement homes, hospices etc. last year in april. I am getting a bare minimum that one can get doing this job (it isn't livable money at all!), but I have 5 and a half weeks holiday per year (that's pretty much standard for Germany). I spend my holidays being with my family who is in another part of Europe. As I was at my parent's home on vacay in january, someone in the company got into my work account and changed the number of vacation days I have left, robbing me of one whole week vacation in this year. As I came back and noticed it, I went to my boss and she told me she will investigate. It turned out, they somehow “made a mistake giving in too many vacation days as I started working” so now they “fixed that…
Requiem for the American Dream
I get hourly/tipped pay, some days I work overtime and some days I get out early depending on how busy it is, so it balances out. I know that even if I work late at least I'm getting paid for being there, and I get holiday time and a half (tip wages so barely anything but still.) Our salaried supervisors on the other hand are short staffed, so they work overtime almost every day, for no extra pay, work holidays for no extra pay, are asked to come in on their days off for no extra pay. What even is the point? I wouldn't be able to handle working extra knowing I wasn't even being compensated for it.
Winner or looser?
My health prevented me from having work, disabled, went from school to permanently retired……….and i can't tell if I'm a winner or a looser. My days consists of nothing, your days consists of nothing but work……….and i can't tell who's in the worse spot
