“We don’t employ wokeness brokeness”
Undercover boss
Does anybody else watch this show and laugh at the drops in the bucket that these CEOS make sound like they just severed a testicle to give their employee a pittance of the respect they deserve?
PTO and Worked Anway
So, I worked for a fairly large national company for a number of years. I relocated to be a “team player”, worked alone for about six months, worked while on PTO to ensure that the jobs got done. Racked up a ton of OT because of poor scheduling and required travel that sometimes had me working 20 hour shifts. Once Worked 25 hours straight and then got blamed when things went wrong. More often than not I'd have to rearrange my life to accomodate working hours for late/over night jobs and then have to turn around the next morning to do another on a few hours sleep. I also had to, more often than not, drive hours away to sites to accomodate do a job then immediately drive hours back, then work early the next day. TLDR: I worked way to much and was then let go because the employer…
Tired of My Dangerous Job
I am a woman who has been working security at my current company for almost 4 years. I mainly just deter people from breaking into cars. I was attacked by a random man last week at work and got a serious concussion. Worker's comp won't cover lost wages for the 2 days I missed work because of it, and they don't offer PTO. I've wanted to quit this job for a long time, but I'm in the process of buying my first house finally. I don't want to start a new job because it would prevent me from qualifying. It's so absurd that I'm literally putting my life at risk just for an opportunity to have a stable future. And then there's the obvious factor that I want to keep being able to pay my current bills and necessities. Today, I'm back at work, and a drunk guy started getting…
I’m thinking about quitting my job
So i started with a company about half a decade ago and when I started I was told if I can earn the business 1,000,000 that they would happily pay me ‘well over 100,000’. I started with the business and got no support. I got no real guidance with them and I copped a LOT of shit. From mgmt and coworkers alike. I honestly stomached a lot and I just got on with it. Anyway fast forward 10 months in and I crack 1 million. The next year I say to my boss, we need to talk about the raise that was discussed when I started. Some back and forth and eventually I get offered a raise from 60,000 to 72,000. I am absolutely gutted. I said when you told me well over 100k for a figure the company had NEVER seen in sales (they put the amount up way…
Applied to this job on LinkedIn on a whim. Credit check before interview? I think the f not.
I've been working for almost a year at a small publishing house, not really on a great pay but at least I'm doing what I love. The only promotion I could get in this company though, would be a management position that requires me to take care of the entire graphic department. I've told them in the past I am interested in this role, but now I've found out that they actually posted this job listing online (I have been looking at other jobs just in case if they don't want to raise my salary in 2 months, since I've heard from previous coworkers they are not really keen to do that). But now let's get to the real thing that maddens me: ME AND MY COWORKERS ARE LISTED ON THE JOB AS BENEFITS (E.g. Benefits: attractive salary package, private medical insurance, NICE COWORKERS, free coffee). How fucked up is…
Do I have a case? This seems like negligence by my employer.
So I'll try to cut this story as short as possible I'm currently working as a HelpDesk of an IT Company. It has nothing to do with what I actually wanna do (sysadmin ie system administration) however I took this job because ironically the job pays well in my country but it has nothing to do with my long term goals, in fact I thought it would have more to do with IT than it actually does lol So even tho the pay is pretty good, my boss expects me to work like a robot. He doesn't pay me nearly enough to toil like a slave. And no, I can't put on a fake smile during every damn phone call with clients when I'm severely chronically ill and have to work a job and study at the same time just so a few years down the line I'll get to…
