I worked for a small family owned store until the end of January. I quit and moved away because I could no longer afford to live in the area I was. One of the benefits I had was being on the company cell phone plan. When I joined originally, I was told that when I left they’d help me get my number transferred back to my own plan. So, the time comes and I leave. A month after I left, the owner texted me and let me know it was time to get moving on my own plan. I got a new plan that same day and let him know what info I needed to get my number transferred. He said he couldn’t find it in the app. The next day I texted his wife about the info I needed. She responded “We’re busy this week when we can we…
Month: March 2022
Why did I want to do that..like why should I go to their office let them come to my house for filling any files..I transported the message to svisor and that's it no more moral policing for it from the side of office shots sitting there just to threaten empoyers to be slaves for company.
My line manager makes me hate my job
My line manager is such a shitty person it's unreal. He doesn't actually do any work all day and just orders everyone around and gets people to do all his stuff for him. He is super rude to all of us and speaks to us like shit, yet if we do it to him he goes crazy at us and says we can't speak to him like it. His behaviour has caused so many people to quit, however the issue is that he's friends with the other managers and company director so nothing will ever be done about it. I'm currently looking for a new job, I love my job but I can't deal with how shitty he is
Questions to ask an Interveiwer?
My whole family is going on vacation and I didn't ask for the time off from work because im going on another vacation in 6 months. My boss makes a big deal about asking for time off. So how often is TOO often? Legit life is too short. Also, my boss keeps denying people time off, even stopped printing time off forms, because she said we are understaffed. Fun fact, a coworker had a friend apply for our department and my workplace said our department isn't hiring. Yet my boss says we are understaffed and she cant approve saturdays off. She denied my friday and saturday off…. 5 months in advance. Also who the F ISN'T hiring right now?!
What are your thoughts on unions?
Pros- An entire system in place built to protect employees and help them get reasonable pay, and benefits.Cons- Money Vacuum. Bureaucracy. Red Tape. Are you really get what you're paying for with membership? How effective is your union? Personally, I had a bad experience with one. I tried to report my boss who was bullying me into coming into work when I was sick, and I later found out was slandering my name to other potential employers when I tried to get out and they'd call for a reference. The union said their hands were tied and there was nothing they could do.
I work in an IT role for a savvy tech company and nobody asks me for help. I work remotely honestly other than checking emails/ 2 meetings a week my day is clear. I'm worried about changing jobs even though i want to earn more but i know other workplaces. I recently started looking at contracts and secured 1 last week so i'll be earning an extra 3k freelancing and will work during my regular 9-5 Honestly, i have 2 jobs now and 1 of them i do nothing and the other i will find it out soon. I'm 25 last year i was just bored doing nothing and going gym during work hours, going for long walks and browsing reddit [Making memes]. Hopefully this will allow to move into my own place and plan to keep this job if the workload never piles up
My GF had two interviews one for a bank and one to manage a hotel. The hotel was minium wage and the bank was over 20 and hour. Both full time but the bank was 9-5. The hotel offered her the job with an official letter and the bank was going to do the same. She declined the offer at the hotel since the hours and wage were not as good as the bank said they'd offer in the interview. After that the offer from the bank came in for 18$ an hour and 1 shift a week on shift work. From over $20 an hour full time to 18$ and 1 shift a week plus anything else people wanted to switch with her. They lied in the interview and caused her to decline a much better offer under false pretenses. I'm shook.
Another Monday
Another week I only had 1 day off and didn’t even get any overtime so now here comes Monday where I am even less recharged and ready for another 5 days, 40+ hours before a day off. I am so tired of American working conditions. -The 1 day off in 7 working rule is outdated. -The 40 hour work week is outdated. -A week or two of vacation time a year (if you’re “lucky”) not even guaranteed is outdated. -No guaranteed sick time and again being “lucky” to have a week or two a year is outdated. -So many companies in the US still refusing even partial WFH policies or making people return to the office for no reason other than their beloved real estate is outdated. I see so many commenters on here from the US who have it WAY worse than I do, which isn’t even good, and…
