Ageing is an inescapable process that causes a steady functional impairment in the large majority of organisms. Changes in the looks of skin, which becomes thin, less supple, wrinkled, and far less able to accomplish its defensive role, are one of the most visible indicators of ageing in people. Skin ageing is a multi-faceted phenomenon, and experts are still trying to figure out all of the intricate connections that occur. We do know, however, that it is influenced by both inherent (intrinsic) and external (extrinsic) variables. Intrinsic wrinkles are characterized by skin shrinkage, an enhanced predominance of the vasculature, decreased elasticity, and fine wrinkles, and are mostly genetically driven. Extrinsic causes comprise Exposure to UV radiation and pollution, which cause intense wrinkles, rough texture, and pigmentation anomalies. https://preview.redd.it/t7xxev5784q81.jpg?width=400&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=791b8860d7674b4e393c4fac8f37fa2654127639 Read More

i wish i had the guts to ask for a pay raise. i wish I had the guts to put my foot down when repeatedly expected to do a fuck ton of work that's not in my job description. i wish I had the heart to tell my coworkers not to overwork themselves either. i wish I could convince my managers of the same, and the people above them. i wish I weren't so scared to speak up. i wish my silence could make a difference. instead I just break down and write reddit rants just to keep doing it all again the next day. i'm working but i'm not making any profit at all – just enough to afford nothing I need but everything my mind's been conditioned to want. i wish this cycle weren't so deadly. it's like it's been carefully crafted to hammer home just how meaningless…
That’s pretty much it. It is a religious holiday. I told you two weeks ahead of time. My family is traveling to be with me. Why do I have to give her more reasons?
Can someone help me right a message for my area manager message me and I will give you details my ex boss after I quit has been spreading rumours and with holding pay information and I need a way to put this across in a way to get them all in trouble as my requests have been ignored by my area manager and my ex boss
What can you get from your internship???
I remember just 5 years ago I paid 6k to New York Times to be a part of the internship program. During my summer holiday , I got $17 from my internship with the New York Times , my days started at 6 am & ended at midnight , that made me feel quiet disappointed. Yeah , I didn't think much of it at the time , but how absurd was it that student-interns paid full-time tuition to “gain experience” , and were treated like running dogs… To be honest , my internships in New York Times consisted of meaningless tasks that in no way contributed to my skill set as well .One day , my supervisor sent me to get water . I got it and he said “sorry , I forget to tell you I don't take cold water” , I had to return it to get another…
“We will be training you!”
This happened close to 10 years. I was new to this country and job hunting. After long search scored an interview for a junior Database Admin. The interviewer looked at my resume like a teacher looks at a paper while trying to grade it “It says here previously you were a Tutor at your college and you taught Advanced Mathematics. Can you solve this calculus problem?” “I didn't tutored Calculus but sure I can take a crack at it” Interviewer while laughing: “How can you write in your resume that you were an Advanced Maths teacher if you didn't teach calculus?” Me: “I didn't teach. I tutored and the subjects I tutored were called Advanced Maths and calculus is not in it” Interviewer: “Anyways. Here I see that you have a very broad experience. This is very bad it shows that you're not an expert in anything!” Basically the entire…
2 years ago was working in a shitty small business run by an old fashioned boomer who insisted everyone called him “boss” (uncommon in Australia). When I was on a pre-booked 4 week holiday which involved some unpaid days as it exceeded my accrued leave ( this was prearranged with the employer). I was out of reception overseas a few weeks, and didn't realise until I got back that I had been fired during the holdiday. He did it while I was on leave to avoid paying the 2 weeks notice he's legally obliged to give (he said the unpaid days of leave were the notice period). Didn't argue it too much at the time as I was worried about references for a new job etc and not sure if it's worth trying to do something about now to get the unpaid 2 weeks?
A few months ago my company merged with another larger company. When this happened I immediately called the company we merged with to find out more information and see if there was a difference in base pay. In doing so I found they start out $3 more than my company so I informed my coworkers. We’ve been going through the merging process and our company has done questionnaires and surveys all of which say nothing about increasing our pay. Today is my first day back after vacation, I was pulled into the office by my immediate boss and long story short they knew it was me who called the company we’re merging with and informed me that we need to keep our pay rates private and not discuss things like that among coworkers he then proceeded to give me a $1.50 raise. I’m unsure how to feel about this, I…
