That was the boomers' mantra. Now it's time to apply it to them. They need to be compelled to retire and step down from public life.

I can’t do it anymore. I can’t constantly be faced with the harsh realities of the world genuinely wanting people like us dead. I scrolled through this thread to try and get some hope because I’m on the verge of losing my job and just got sent into a hyperventilating existential crisis. Writing this while sobbing at 2AM and feeling defeated. I don’t want to be a downer but maybe ignorance truly is bliss. You guys are stronger than me, keep up the good fight. I’m going to go back into the echo chamber of pretending everything is fine. I know it’s wrong, but it makes me feel better.
Started working a corporate job after finishing uni about 5 months ago. Fuck I've never been so simultaneously stressed and bored in my life. The competitive culture of business just isn't for me, so I'm saving every dollar they give so I can quit in a few months and chase my dreams of skiing in Canada. All the best for all my fellow cogs in the wheel
If everyone is supposed to not be “lazy” and “get a better job” to improve their life then who will be left to do all those shit(shit paid) jobs? Like we won't have any more cooks, servers, cashiers, janitors, etc… Or in reality their just aren't enough “better” jobs for everyone.
Gotta love pay transparency
I wonder why they are urgently hiring
Long rant. I have a story from a decade ago. I worked at JCPenneys. I actually have no major complaints for the majority of my time there. It was alright for a retail job for a young adult. No scars. I made a lot of friends. I gave them my two weeks notice because I wanted to pursue a career in childcare (spoiler alert that was a nightmare and I’ve moved on to better things) I already was hired by a day care. I was also in the process of moving to the other side of town. When I gave my notice they scheduled me everyday for 2 weeks. Not one day off. And as a good worker bee I worked those days without complaint. Did I also mention that I didn’t have a car and had to walk a mile home most nights? I worked in the lingerie dept…
