“I said what I said.”
So.. the reason I’ve considered this relevant here is – the work culture’s heavy demands pulling me away from the passions I feel like I’m supposed to be devoting to are my biggest gripe with ‘work’, as we know it. It strips all of the meaning out of life. Trading all of our time (life) for some other person’s greed. Anyways, I’m constantly looking for a way to remedy this problem the best I can: steal back as much of my time as I can from work to dedicate to my personal life mission. I posted this on other subreddits, but I am curious what other people who may feel this way about work in general might have to say about it: I’m 32. My life is to be dedicated to filmmaking, pro wrestling, hip hop, and a myriad of other passionate interests. I have no time for college -…
So I am working at a face paced restaurant atm, which I don't like, and I haven't told my manager im quitting. I am working tomorrow but I dont want to work on Monday and after that. There is a WhatsApp group chat, so I know that I will get asked why I didn't show up, but i don't know how to bluntly get told that i quit. The people I am working with aren't horrible, although I do find the environment somewhat unbearable a lot of the times. However I was so nervous to say I'm quitting due to the backlash. Should I message my manager on the Monday morning that I've quit ? Not sure what I should do? Thank you Also restaurant work is not a job i plan to work in so idc about references. I also have new work lined up for Monday.
Tired of on call coercion
What are your thoughts on tipping?
I made a post yesterday where I complained that tipping culture was bad, however the post lacked cohesion at times which may have caused my point(s) to become watered down or overshadowed. Due to this, I would like to start a discussion on why tipping should or should not exist so that I can propperly bring my point(s) up again. The first main point I brought up is that the consumer should not have to worry about the livlihood of the person giving the the service (waitstaff, hairdresser, etc.) We all have our own bs that we are going through and worrying that my tip is going to screw this person over shouldn't be brought into that. Businesses should be paying their workers fairly, end of story. Though some comments from the previous post make that sound a bit more complicated, so I'm interrested in hearing feedback on that. I…

Meeting with possible racist/sexist boss
So I work in a scif so no recordings are allowed but work in a hostile environment where people are leaving every week. This looks bad for management who hires the horrible bosses under them. The problem is that the main manager is hiring people who are friends amongst themselves and have each other's back so these bosses can do whatever they want and cover their asses. The brown nosing and asskissing is incredible here. I am pending a tuition reimbursement and another qualification that will make me more marketable for jobs that this company is paying for so I don't want to quit just yet but the boss I have now picks only on me. She is very sensitive and high strung so anything gets to her. She watches only me like a hawk and watches whenever only I get up while everyone else especially men are getting up…
A retired USAF colonel, J.M. is jet fighter pilot par excellence, multiple combat tours in hostile skies, National Aerobatic Champion (wife is World Aerobatic Champion), leader of a distinguished 4-ship air show formation team, former Army Command and General Staff College instructor (knows his history), who has “seen the elephant!“ Many times. During the Civil War, soldiers would speak about “Seeing the elephant.” The “elephant” was battle, combat, being under enemy fire. His take is worth your time!! Critical things you may want to think about, in 2022. I never dreamed that I would have to face the prospect of not living in the United States of America, at least not the one I fought for and have known all my life. I have never wished to live anywhere else. This is my home and I was privileged to be born here. I am proud to have served in the…
