My friend works at Rite Aid, and the manager noticed someone beeped while walking out the door after she checked them out. He got angry and told my friend she needs to confront the person and ask to scan /check their items again. She said she isn't comfortable chasing them down because it's unsafe, and he said “Your fears are not worth us losing merchandise. ” My friend took tests during her training to work there, and the trainings said to not even talk to shoplifters, because safety is more important. They said to call a manager. This manager doesn't want to hire loss prevention/security. Instead he expects his employees, making $15/hour (in one of the most expensive areas in the US) to risk their safety confronting shoplifters. She is planning to quit soon. Is it better for her to continue refusing to stop shoplifters and see if they fire…

On my post yesterday I mentioned I had had enough of working for shitcoins under the man and slaving for 25 years only to still worry about my next paycheck. I gave notice last night and took the plunge. I will be working for myself and pushing my own schedule and pay rates. Wish me luck!
