I'm in a dilemma about how I should handle what I feel is a bullshit situation. Basically the place i work for is not 10/10. The owner is disconnected, rich, and ignorant while everyone else is pretty great, but he makes things very difficult. My boss (head of the department) just put in his resignation and they started looking for a replacement. I have been with the company for about 1.5 years and want the position. There is no one else in our small three person team who “qualifies” (the other person is a graphic designer who does not want it and also doesn't know marketing). This is the next position as far as progression in this company for me goes, yet they are actively posting and searching for other candidates. I put my “name in the hat” but they will not give me a straight answer what so ever.…

How to Start a Union at Your Company
I’m Fired If I leave Work Early
If you don't feel like being grossed out then I would leave this post. I'm at work right now, 2 hours into a 12 hour night shift and I'm shitting and puking. We have a point system here, 9 points and you're fired, I'm at 8. This sucks. I need this job to support my family. It's the only income we have. Supervisor actually does care and feels bad but there's nothing he can do if I leave and hit 9 points. Completely out of his hands because the big boss will fire me regardless.
I am wondering what are some common things that are said when people know that they are working in terrible working conditions, but try to justify it.
Crash and burn. Love to see it.
New grocery store near me opened very recently. Offering “competitive” wages with benefits. The whole spiel we have all probably heard before. Friend of mine works there makes $13 an hour and they only get benefits if they are full time, which everyone is just an hour shy of. So half the workers have already quit. Shelves are absolutely barren and the workforce left (my heart does go out to them , and I hope they get out soon) can't keep up. Not even a week open and they are already absolutely struggling to keep people or even remain open.
I was picking orders today in the warehouse I work in and one of the shift leads came down to inform me to be careful pulling orders from my zone cause one of the skids of product isn't fully secure to the tracks for some unknown reason meaning it could of come loose off the tracks and pin me against the conveyor line crushing the lower half of my body we're talking multiple skids of product that could possibly roll out off the tracks that weigh I'd say at least a thousand pounds each well I immediately inturupted her and said okay let me pull out my phone real quick so I can record what's going on here that way if I get hurt I can sue this company for OSHA violations and she got TRIGGERED told me she'd just move me somewhere else then since I wanna be like…
I work for a company that’s treats it’s workers poorly. They lie to their employees constantly and continually make excuses for themselves. They’re even NOW making their own overstaffing our issue by asking us to move to different positions because they over-hired. They’ve lied to sections of their employees to get them to change roles in the company with the promise of it being temporary. Literally the same as their sales practices – everything is bait and switch. What can be done aside from just giving up?
