I was on some support chat dealing with a dumb issue, and the rep said something like “well ms lonabirdie it was wonderful speaking with u today and i was so pleased to send u that password reset email, i would love to be able to help u again sometime” and like… how is this normal? no one is fucking pleased to send a password reset email. he literally wouldve been more pleased to sit there and do nothing bc then at least he can relax, i was making him do one of the worlds most tedious tasks and there is nothing wrong with having a tedious job but u arent pleased about it. and him saying he was pleased about it made me feel icky i wouldve felt way better about the interaction if he had said “hey lonabirdie i sent the password reset email, is there anything else?…

I was making $54k, and where I live the average is $75-116k JUST for a senior front end developer with no back end experience. I didn't know what my value was worth until three years later ($54k was my final raise) and I told them I need a $30k raise ASAP. Knowing I wouldn't get this raise, I started looking for a new job. I immediately got multiple offers $20-$30k above what I currently make from multiple employers. After a week of me telling them what I need, they came back with just $62k. I told them they can match me with…
