What I often notice is that people enjoy sabotaging each other, especially when it comes to their career They'd often recommend you the worst jobs, in hopes you'll take them so you'll be miserable and a “step lower” than them. They hate seeing people succeed in better positions than them, or advocate for getting fair treatment, they generally get extremely pissed off once they see others wanting better for themselves. I saw it back in highschool too. One of the students top of my class, excelled in sciences specifically, told her teachers that she wanted to become a doctor. One of them told her she'll never succeed, that she's wasting her time and she better go work at a restaurant instead. Last I heard of her she's in med school and doing great

A couple of weeks ago I submitted my one week notice, I could not stand my supervisor as they were very micromanaging, pushy about production, and pushy about start end times(explained down below). In my Exit interview with HR they offered me a chance to transfer out to the main building instead of the small side building where I worked because they didn't want to loose me. I accepted. I was told I would be working with Supervisor A. who apparently everybody loves. When I got there yesterday the boss of the supervisors took me to Supervisor B, who didn't know this sudden change either and certainly didn't treat me like I was welcome. I feel like I was bait and switched and the worst part to me is the scheduling. One of the few things I actually like about my job is the Schedule. They have 30 minute window…
No more days off; Boss can screw off
I work in an industry that has just faced the direct care of Covid-19 patients. Since day 1 it was an ever changing environment, information, set of rules, and oh….no days off. Everyday fo to work while shelves were shopped empty. I would go to the store to find little to no food because we were taking care of others and I couldn’t miss work to go to the grocery store. It was eye opening. I have been at this employer almost 8 years. I have worked 16-22 hour days when we are short staffed to help put other people’s needs first and ensure no one works short staffed if I can help it for their safety. I’ve sacrificed sleep, my health, my mental stability, holidays, vacations with friends and family for this job. I have been spit on. I have been hit/slapped. I have had people try to bite…
So, today I did some research and found an alternative union… they now have 9 new members. I have written a report to HR and will be requesting an immediate toolbox centred around harassment in the workplace and best of all … I have already found a new job and haven't given them notice yet. I intend to escalate it to a our local government body if HR doesn't immediately action it and I need to be currently employed at the place I am at for them to be able to do anything. Hope they enjoy my parting gift. Bon Voyage!
Its time for a general strike, America.
As a non-American, my heart bleeds for all of you for the working conditions you have to endure. Across the board it seems like workers rights are a joke to your employers and managers. So its time to take into hand the only weapon you have; your labour, and withdrawing it. Its time to strike. I urge all of you to organise, locally and nationally, to strike on May Day (May 1st), international workers day. The world is watching; make it happen.
