So my boss is the owner of a small car wash. Since I started he's been consistently late, anywhere from 30mins-to a few hours, yet is a stickler on time for us. I got tired of it because I was having to close fairly regularly and then open the next day. I'm a part-time college student and don't make shit, not nearly enough to justify a 12-hour turnaround time. I finally got tired of it and confronted him. He said, “Well, I'm salary so the rules apply differently to me.” At that point I had had enough, of the scummy business practices, the refusing to help, the passive aggressiveness, and the tardiness, I just put in my two weeks and that was that. Is this a common experience? It hasn't been for me. EDIT: The place is understaffed and we didn't have the man power for someone to just not…

So “Red” runs a Digital Marketing business, where he outsources to freelancers and takes a handsome cut + hired “Yellow” to check everything is going well. I asked for $10.50 per hour to do social engagements for “Green”, (he was offering about $7.20). I was willing to continue at $7.20, because I had managed to complete the tasks in a shorter time frame and it was not getting flagged up by “Yellow” as too little work. “Red” then accuses me of deleting the logout images from the chat for my own gain and messages my girlfriend (also freelancing for him) to check. https://preview.redd.it/6d0uo4jxt3r81.png?width=634&format=png&auto=webp&s=e0de7ed72a793d89d656b3a785735d04f89fc1ac https://preview.redd.it/3ea8gefit3r81.png?width=530&format=png&auto=webp&s=389ae3586f597fe791893aa4b248171d874dab9e
I recently moved jobs, one I had been for more than a decade. During the interview the everyone asked what was my salary expectation. My current salary was very low so I said this “I know XXX is a fair employer and so I'm not concerned about salary instead I want to make sure I get the correct title/position here.” And it in a sense too. The company is very employee friendly and pay their employees well. In my previous one, my compensation was salary + 15% cash bonus. In the new one, its salary + 45% bonus of cash & stocks. My base salary in the new one is more than twice the base salary in previous one, if I include bonus its exactly 3X. And I'm really proud of achieving that. I'm sure if I had said what my current salary was, I would have received way lower.…
Thank you my friend.
Commuting sucks. Breakroom food areas suck. But for me the worst part about when I worked in an office was the people. I generally like people. I'm incredibly social. But having to spend more time with work people than with the people i love? Fuck that. People on here get annoyed when companies call their employee pool a “family”, but honestly, what's more a family than a group of people you didn't choose, and who you mostly don't wanna hang out with?
This is hardly a meme and more of a PSA.
TLDR at the bottom. I had some issues in the job market and had to take a poorly paid job in a big company in the food industry. It was an easy-to-get job, because it had relatively high physical demands and low pay. Because of these circumstances, there are also frequently people getting kicked out. I started with 3 other guys and we almost always worked together on things that didnt need much thought/explanation. I myself, unlike the other guys, am someone who tries to do a very good job and sometimes pays the physical and/or mental price. So within 2 months I get into a good rythm and try to prove myself. In the third month I had to do a job alone that was supposed to be done by 2 workers. Boss tells me: “I know that this is too much work for only one person, so just…
