Employees at an Amazon warehouse on New York’s Staten Island voted Friday to join a union, a groundbreaking move for organized labor and a stinging defeat for the e-commerce giant, which has aggressively fought unionization efforts at the company. While the official vote tally hasn’t been announced, the union’s union’s lead is large enough that remaining and contested ballots are unlikely to sway the outcome of the election. The latest tally, according to a union organizer, is 2,350 in favor of joining and 1,912 opposed. CNBC

I am a recent landlord, with stock market being as much bullshit as it is I figured buying a condo was a much safer investment. Rent comparables in this area are $1,200-$1,600. I priced my updated condo at $1400, got a couple that were very interested and excited to move in. I asked for the usual documents including paystubs… That's where my mind was absolutely blown. This person worked 100 hours in two weeks they make $16 an hour and $24 an hour with overtime. Their GROSS pay for those two weeks with overtime was $1,739.40 Of that they received $1,087.00 They bring home 2k a month working 200 hours a month. That's only $500 a week. This person works 200 hours a a month and can't can't afford to live in a medium market rent condo in average area. What the actual fuck is going on. Tl:Dr holy shit…
