My mothers company, located in NJ, Is REFUSING to pay her Short Term Disability and is at risk of being ineligible for further rehabilitation. My mother suffered a massive stroke where half of her skull was removed. Thankfully, shes slowly recovering but needs more time in rehabilitation. I am beyond angry because she went from missing half of her head and not knowing who I was to now reading books and smiling when she sees me. Is there any law in place in NY/NJ which protects my mother and enforces that company’s pay their employees??

$200 per month starting this month, excluding telecommuters. I get that telecommuters don’t use gas to get to work, but why send this company wide if not everyone gets it, we are all affected by gas prices no matter how much we use it, so why exclude your entire night shift of employees? Edit to add in case it matters, everyone already hates me: I started WFH before the pandemic, then when everyone went to WFH, they all got $1000 bonuses to make up for the cost of working from home. We didn’t get that either. I’m a little salty from that too I guess.

I found what seems to be a very good job for me personally. I haven't started yet and I had to let the guy know that I had a few dental and Dr appointments coming up. He seemed a little annoyed but was ok with it. But I felt this quilt or something about having to ask off before I start due to appointments I have to be at (mental health is my priority). I don't want to look like a bullshitter, but like I said, my immediate mental and physical health is top priority and I feel like we have been programmed to feel guilty about this.

I worked for a Health Insurance company for years. Originally as a customer service rep for Medicare members. I loved the job since I like helping the elderly and talking with them. I topped out on how much I could make so I decided to move over to another position, eligibility. Basically I just entered account information and listened to music. At first everything seemed okay, but then my supervisor, Sally*, got a bug up her butt against me. Nobody could figure out why, but she targeted me for harassment. If she was mad at me she would openly discipline me in front of everyone. If she was mad about someone else she would come over and yell at me, again in front of everyone. She would nitpick everything I did and was. She even found ways to make it so I didn't get a yearly raise. It got so…
