Month: April 2022
Just put in my resignation
I've been at my job for 2 years. I've expressed my desire to move up in the company since I started. I've been passed over numerous times for promotions and get paid significantly less than all my peers despite me doing the same work and having more years of experience. Not to mention there is little to no work life balance and for 4 months of the year it is common for me to not have a single day off and put in 70+ hours a week. Finally decided I've had enough and found a job making more money, working less hours, with more room for growth. I just submitted my resignation at my current job and boy does it feel amazing!!!
fml, the gap just gets wider and wider
Just got fired for discussing pay
I work(ed) at Stripes (southern 7/11, same company). My boss called me 3 times this morning at 6am and then a text asking me to come in early (3 hours before my shift, and about 2 1/2 hours before i woke up) so I honestly thought he was angry about that when I arrived . But no he fired me for talking about pay. I only worked there a week and here in Texas I don’t qualify for unemployment, but do I still qualify for final pay within 6 days? Or anything else that could help? Edit: He started the conversation by saying “what did I tell you when I hired you?” “Don’t talk about pay” I asked for clarity that I was being fired for discussing pay and he agreed but it’s kind of all for nought because he refused to put it in writing.
