I worked for a company once that sold Internet and TV service in our area it's a big name company. During the interview I asked the manager multiple time is this a commission only job he replied no every time. I was excited it was 11$ per hour plus commissions. I went to my first day of work and I was talking to my trainer / coworker about the job when I said “I'm happy that this job pays hourly plus commission” my coworker then said, “Oh it's only hourly + commission until you make 3 sales then it's pure commission” I turned around walked right out of the store we were working in and didn't look back. Got a call the next day from the bossman saying “I thought you were coming in today” which I replied “yeah and I thought it wasn't a commission only job so I…

I get paid $27 an hour. I have unlimited sick leave, cultural leave, 5 weeks annual leave, 7 months parental leave, and a 30 hour work week. My union fees are paid by my workplace. My boss isn't perfect, but she does treat me like a human being and listens to what I have to say. My workplace is trans inclusive and working to decolonize. My work is sometimes stressful and frustrating. But compared to the horror stories I have been seeing here I feel very lucky. Workplaces with good working conditions do exist. All these working conditions I have listed above are financially feasible for my organization. So don't let “we don't have the money” be the excuse. I hope you all win the working conditions you are fighting for.

Rant. I had a really really good job. I loved it. But there's always a BUT and there was shit I put up with for years. I'm glad I don't have to anymore. Sometimes I still see them or their work out and about and I think Im so glad I don't have to fucking work with certain people anymore or care about any of the petty shit I had to manage. Hi everyone! Writing this post to seek some advice 🙂 I’m a 21yo part-time restaurant server and I’ve had some issues at work recently. Besides continuous verbal harassment from my manager, I noticed that the company has not updated the minimum wage on my payrolls starting from April 1st. They should be paying me 9.18 but they are still paying 8.91. I know it’s not much, but bills are increasing and I want to get what I am fully entitled to get. I’ve spoken to the manager, telling her that I would stop working unless I got paid the legal amount and she said she’s going to “speak to the management upstairs and see what they say”. I work from home for a major company that provides tech support services. I have a team lead whom I love. He really cares about us as people and tries to get us time off the phones and time to unwind. He’s very laid back with us and will deliberately run meetings longer than needed in order to give us a mental break. One day, I was near tears due to several difficult calls and so were several coworkers so decided to give us a bit of time to cool down and unwind before going back to calls. I have thick skin when it comes to my calls but these customers went on long tirades and I had to end interactions with them due to abusive behavior. So I work at a music store that’s part of a chain (not guitar center tho), and I’m one of 3 employees total at this location, with one being the manager, who has been blowing up at my only coworker and I in increasing frequency. Beyond that the company keeps adding new responsibilities to the job without an increase in pay or any benefits. I’m looking at other jobs(got my second interview for a higher paying job this week!), but someone mentioned unions so I was curious. I was one of the hardworking and valuable employee, I did all the assigned task perfectly and my boss was impressed and kind of helping me to build my career path by assigning important and critical task to me. But after the covid hit and we change from office to work from home environment, I started to get lazy and unproductive day by day, eventually I ended up avoiding calls and skipping job. I had been confronted by my boss many time but I just can't get myself up. Eventually I ghosted the job for more than 8 months till now, there was a project assigned to me before that and I am unable to start doing it till today, everyday I struggle to open the company laptop but I just can't do it, always finding excuse to avoid myself from doing it. I’ve been doing research and trying to decide the best approach. I’ve found out my colleague, 5 years my junior and female , employed in the exact same role, earns more than me. Has anyone else been in this situation, if so how did you handle it?

So I wasnt suppose to get fired while being on mh loa while im injured but i got fired and cant do anything since it im in an at will state and they deemed my injury as not bad. If you have read my previous post about my injury well here is the update. If I dont get the medical care I need im going to mexico to get treated since my lawyer ghosted me.
