I tried looking for it, but when i was job searching i was browsing through indeed and one job caught my eye. Of course it was extremely vague about what you would be doing and had all the hallmarks of a shitty MLM/sales job. But i was desperate and nearly homeless so i applied, and as expected got an interview within 30 min cause that's just how these places work. After 10 min at the place i already knew i was not going to accept the job even if offered, low pay, bad incentives, no time off until like 6 months in, just a bad feeling all around. But the final confirmation came from the CEO himself, he was in the office and he came over to meet me while i was wrapping up and grabbing my stuff to leave. He asked how i felt about the interview, i just…

Ask any tipped employee how they feel about tips, and you'll get the same response: “I depend on tips to live, and if you don't tip you're an ass and you shouldn't use my services.” And that's understandable, given the way they understand how a tipped job works. But it's in the employers' best interest to keep those employees in the dark as to the reality of what a “tipped minimum wage” really means. This is going to be long, and it's going to sound complicated, but it's not. It won't solve all of the problems of “tipping culture;” only a living wage will do that, but it's never a bad thing for employees to know their rights. Also, all of these numbers are referring to a single 8-hour shift, just to make the numbers easier to work with. First, we need to talk about “tipped minimum wage.” Most people…
I found a work from home job & while I was upstairs working, my dad fell & broke his hip. He had to be transported via ambulance to the local E.R. & since I'm his only caregiver so I had to leave to be there for him. He is still in the hospital & having other life threatening issues due to the fall & before I could explain to them my circumstances for having to leave during training they had my temp service prob me with questions about the fall as if I was lying, they literally humiliated me about a circumstances that was no fault of my own then said they would contact the employer to see what they wanted to do about my absence. Fast forward to Thursday morning, I attempted to log into my workspace & couldn't get logged on. I was confused because my temp service…

Who could pass on such a great job??
I’m in Indiana for clarity, and the co-owner is also the hr rep. She keeps bringing me in to ask me why I haven’t been getting more than forty hours in a week because I “really need to pull more weight” around the shop. I’m the only painter to 9 welders, so the paint booth is naturally the choke point of the shop. They trained me to paint and do things the way I do, but when I show I can do that, they just expect more from me and put bids in for more jobs that require paint. So basically, next time she brings me in to ask why I don’t come in early everyday or come in Saturdays, is having depression and anxiety a valid enough reason to not want to work more than 40 hours? I can never sleep and even if I manage to work up the…
I recently started working in het most horrible place ever and I continued to do so for about a month. My job (server/dishwasher) was in a restaurant from a large entertainment park. On my first day I noticed the extreme heat/humidity in the restaurant that they created deliberately to give the customers the ''jungle experience'', which made me sweat extreme even though I didn't do anything yet. I talked to the manager and he told me ''you'll get used to it''. After talking with my new co-workers they told me the manager always tells this story so you don't quit immediately. We had to wear a long-sleeved cotton shirt, long black pants and a skirt in those temperatures. On my first day I consumed 4 litres of water and had 3 moments I almost passed out from the heat, other co-workers were suffering as well. Customers complained about the heat…
