I am at a point that i have realised that most of the times i feel that i do not want to go to work is because of certain colleagues. Some of them have created small teams, because they get along and outside work, so they kinda help each other and have each others back in arguments about work tasks and i am really sick of it.I am not a kiss ass and i will not be their yes man just to validate me. Also there is this one employee that is power hungry and tries to act like a manager when he isn't that really has tired me… However, my manager really appreciates me, but this “team” keep pushing its agenda every day and really ruins the love i have for my work.

my theory about why so many jobs suck
In short the larger a company or corporation gets the less the top knows their workers which leads to detachment where the work is just a number on a balance sheet. The jobs I have seen where workers like it seem to be smaller businesses where the workers work alongside the owners and everyone knows everyone on a more personal basis. I see alot of people complaining about worker pay etc my question is where do you spend your dollars big corporations like Walmart McDonald target Starbucks? If you shop at places on a regular basis your kinda shooting yourself in the foot these companies treat their employees like garbage and the only languages they understand is profit/loss. If you really want to upset the balance you would need to create competition for yourself make the jobs compete to hire you and the rest comes naturally. You should go out…
In terms of my personal situation…I was fired from a junior job I've been in for about almost a month because of a lack of performance. I was wondering if this makes it less likely for me to get hired in the future, or what implications it could have to my job seeking/job future in the same field. Thanks.
Alright, so I started this job in about February. It really isn't my thing, definitely not a dream and I make less than a gas station clerk doing it. Hooray. But it looks good on a resume so I'm trying to get a year here under my belt. Where I work, we work the the community and do a lot of programming in house. All in-house programming goes to my coworker, and all outreach work is my work. My coworker has a lot of in-hour programming, while I don't necessarily have to do in-house programming, it's not in my job description, I do help her out a lot. Today she had this program that went past the time my 8 hours are up. She is not my boss though she is technically in a higher position than me. I told her I was leaving when my 8 hours was up…
Boss drags wfh meetings on for hours
I work from home for an accounting company, we typically have a daily meeting at around 7am that is scheduled to last 20 minutes. However, my boss never allows them to just go for 20 minutes. For example today, he called us all into the meeting early, and it has now lasted 2 hours. For no reason. There is nothing essential to go over, he turns every meeting into a brainstorming session that lasts HOURS. I’m a breastfeeding mother, I do have my mother who comes to help out for a few hours each day, and my job is aware that I work from home with my child. I need time aside to be able to at least pump so my mother can feed my daughter. Which is a legal right, but whenever i bring it up in meetings that i need to step away he’s adamant about oh one…
I'm trying to look for remote jobs but I've been working blue collar my whole life. I did go to community college for 3 to 5 years but dropped out after a few hard classes. When I look online for a remote job I'm frustrated by the fact that many of them require a degree or years of experience. The ones that don't seem like they would be soul sucking or very micro managing. I want to know has anyone became self taught and gotten a good remote job? I want to get into something like data entry, data analysis, software engineer, or anything involved with typing.
recording at work
A bit of background, I am a carer but work 18 hours a week at a clothing store. When starting was told I would be in the stock room doing deliveries and some organisation of the space between. Anyway I'm about 4 months in now and it has become apperent she essentially hired me as a stock room manager just without the title or freedom to make choices within the stock room in order to make it run faster. Anyway the hours suited me and I was happy to keep busy and the boss seemed happy enough with me until maybe a month ago when she told me I couldn't listen to the radio or audio books while working (it is only me in there) but yeah whatever a bit of a bummer but policy I get it. But her attitude towards me has just become gradually more hostile. Like…
What is a living wage?
Of course it depends on circumstances. However, I’m curious to here how much a living wage based on location, family, hours worked, etc. Please feel free share your current situation along with what you think you SHOULD be getting paid.
