You can’t really be antiwork and pro-tip. It can’t be both.

If you're really antiwork, you want employers and compagnies to pair fairly all of their employees. It should not be the responsibility of the customers to make sure YOUR employees can have a decent wage. NEVER. EVER.

git pull union on Twitter

Many tech companies, including GitHub, use their geographically distributed workforce as a way to steal wages from workers. They call it “location-based pay grades” and other such nonsense. But it's wrong. So we've written something you can share:— git pull union (@git_pull_union) April 10, 2022

How much do I ask for per hour?

Have an interview on Friday for an experienced landscape position. What’s a fair pay to ask for as no amount was listed in the ad. I’m in Minnesota and when I did this 4 years ago I was making $23 an hour with a company truck and paid gas.

Equipment loans – a predatory field

I have thought about posting about this for a long time now, but I didn’t know where to go with this information. I have been out of the field of a year now and I think it is time to go over how disgustingly opaque that field is. A little background information – I was let go at the beginning of the pandemic from this small working capital company where I was in the sales team. I was one of the unfortunate ones that drew the short end of the straw and especially being at the beginning of pandemic, it felt scary losing a source of income without knowing what is in our future with this disease. After few months of being jobless, I got a job for a similar sales gig as my previous role except this would be solely focusing on equipment financing for small businesses. I was…

Will not seek other employment

Quick question on where to look for some legal advice: Teacher here, signed for next year at a school with low pay and difficult working conditions that are, as I understand, not the worst around my area. Part of the contract is a clause stating something to the effect of: I will not seek employment elsewhere With no set parameters of what is meant by this or time frame. This has to me illegal or unenforceable, and I’m just looking for a starting point to investigate. Thanks for any help in advance, and you’re all welcome to dogpile on with more bullshit agreements! ETA: fixed a word from you to and ETA: USA, in a small state that used to have a very long name, but recently dropped the plantations bit.

I’m so glad I won’t work in retail anymore.

I'm going to keep it real, growing up I thought shitty customers were going to make retail work hell, no..it's shitty management. A bad customer might throw a fit and cuss and stomp their feet, but they might be there 10 minutes, you are (usually) stuck with a shitty boss for the duration of your employment. Give you an example, my wife works in retail, and the upper management is always having a circle jerk on how to improve customer experience, it seems like that is all they care about. But they fucking won't build a team of workers to make that happen. It's like asking someone to build you a shed, then complain they don't have a hammer (when it was explicitly implied you would give them one). They schedule the least amount of people on the busiest of days, they keep saying they are going to hire new…
