in order to get into my master's degree program i need three former co-workers to write me professional references. since returning to the working world from self employment every job i've had is in high turnover positions like working at Walmart. so now I'm left with trying to figure out how to get three non related references to get into the masters program. requiring letters or professional reference is ridiculous.

When you’re cruising down the high way and you notice the oncoming traffic dead stopped, you don’t think “Ew gross how disgusting those people in traffic. It’s their fault they shoulda taken another route. “ NO You think “Man that sucks glad I’m not over there” Why do people think houseless folks are any different?

So I just lost my job because I told a co worker that I wasnt going to an unpaid cleaning party after work that I'm not getting paid for and it was said it was optional but because I said I'm not going I got told to get the fuck out today wtff wtf for real my only income gone yea I'm committing suicide I have nothing at all. I already lost a job from closing down I've sold all my valuables all i have left is some clothes and a shitty pair of shoes i have no savings or nothing i have nothing more to sell I'm royally fucked for real. So i guess this is me saying good bye to people online i have no one else to say good bye to thanks for listening stay up people. Much love and respect.

First time poster here, long time lurker. Let me clarify first that I don’t live in the US and this situation is not taking place in the US but somewhere in Latin America. I want to clarify this so that some things make more sense. In April of last year I started a new job at a government place. An old boss of mine recommended me to his current boss and she hired me to be in charge of an entire area in this new place and to do work related to my degree (I want to be as vague as possible so I won’t be identified but ask me any questions you have, nevertheless). The pay was low but I had been struggling for 3 years to get a job, any job, that I accepted regardless. About 6 months go by and a bunch of new people started working…

Other than an animal shelter. I don't care if it pays less. The primary compensation should be having little interactions with other people. No more spoiled, entitled human beings. I want a job sans any human beings that I want to put my foot up their ass. Is there a job out there like that for me?

Tuesday evening – applies for job Wednesday morning – called for interview Wednesday morning – offered job on spot Wednesday evening – called to see if I can attend next day Thursday morning – 1st day at work What in the heck. Just a few days ago I was a fulltime stay at home mum to my 2 year old son. Now I'm in training (paid) to work for the government. I haven't even found a daycare yet ?? I at least thought it would take me a few weeks or months to find a job

Jobs after college weren’t very easy to find, especially related to what one studied. One would need to find an affordable room to rent, or live month to month as an apartment could be pricey. Job stability hardly existed.
