Hello, where do I begin? I guess if you’re into reading here the post for you? It’ll probably be a mess of thoughts and questions. I work with animals. Mostly dogs. It’s a new job. I’ve been here since January. It was a great job at first. Lost of doggy daycare and the occasional cat daycare even. But months later it’s not any daycare. Matter of fact, every time I ask for the day care list I get hit with “we don’t have time today, go clean the kennels we have a busy week/weekend coming!” this week they (my bosses. They’re a gay couple. They live in the facility. Probably illegally. They did tell me the city doesn’t recognize the faculty as a home address and they claimed they’re caregivers for the animals. But we don’t have a 3rd shift. They don’t watch the animals overnight. Nobody does. Well get…

Here in IL a 30 minute break is required per 7.5 hrs worked. The company I work for is constantly denying or ignoring our legally obligated breaks and nothing is done about it. I have called my area leader and she claims ” we take working breaks.” I have called h.r and they claim that their policy doesn't break the law, but they are constantly breaking the law. Now for the proof. We have a “break on” button on our registers that we are suppose to use to document our breaks. I have worked for the company over a year and only used the “break on” option, once when I demanded a break on a very scuffed shift. So basically my company has absolutely no record of giving anybody breaks because they don't. This is also a company issue and not a location issue as I know it's happening at…
Never thought about it like this
So I watched this video tik tok link It is such a disturbing realization of how deep the hole is that we the working class are in. Even if we get somewhat better wages, the benefits greater. We would still have issues of poverty and the laws to keep those in poverty. Sure the middle class would flourish in extra money, but there would still be people in poverty. People would still get kicked out of their homes, companies can rise and lower prices for their benefit. We need to not just improve our work conditions, but destroy the system and build a better one that favors the human lives.
Power to themotherfucking people!
Is this possible?
I want to start a team of university graduates who have been constantly rejected by this shitty job market where we all get together and combine our knowledge to build a business of some sort. There’s so much intelligence and talent out there being sidelined and ignored. Imagine combining scientists, engineers, software developers, lawyers, writers, artists… that’s a whole company right there Is this possible?
