Having children is expensive, in fact it's so expensive that in todays society it's impossible to retire throught saving if you're earning an average amount and have would it be just one child. But capitalist society needs us to creat more tiny humans to replace us when we retire/die. But what if we don't ? What if the working class who can't affoard to have both a confortable life and children decides to have a confortable life and no children ? I mean sure rich people are still going to have kids, and their kids will inherit their parents Wealth and companies… But what if those young new billionaire CEO have no one to work for them or consume the goods ? What if there just left together between rich people and end up in the apocalyptique world fending for themselves ? I think that would be a pretty cool…

We had a meeting today about what to do if an active shooter comes into our classroom. No, not with the school board, I was instructed by the vice principal of our school to hold a meeting with the students. 12 year old students. I teach a class of 23 on average, 8 showed up today (in total, for all 4 periods of my class, as in I taught my morning class with only 2 students in it) after the Uvalde shooting. I spent period after period instructing no more than 3 children at a time what to do if someone comes to end their lives, how some children only survive if they hide under another dead child, or wipe the blood of deceased children on their bodies. this is going to be a vent ramble. I really just want to just feel validated as i'm already suffering mentally from the about-to-be-listed reasons. so pls dont rag on me lol. also changing a few deets to protect myself, but i will use direct analogies and math ratios. background- i work somewhere in the US that requires you to essentially work in 2- 3 hour shifts, 2- 3 times a day. depends on the person. when i started, I worked 3 shifts of 2.5- 3 hours every day, except wednesday's i'd work 2 3 hour shifts. the average person works 3 -4 days at 9 hours or less, and then one day at 6 hours or less. some less. some more. Salaried people work differently and don't follow the 3 hour shifts rule, they usually work 8-4 or 9-5, leaving early or late some days. i'm not salaried yet…

I am literally about to start earning £34,987 salary as a system engineer for one of the biggest energy providers in the world. I am 22, I am extremely lucky to be guaranteed a lucrative position after my apprenticeship. This is not the case for the majority of university students at the end of their course. Even with this extreme luck I still can’t afford to buy a very basic flat in the UK. The rental market is absolutely fucked. An 11 bedroom house share, not even in the centre of Bristol, is £800 a month. The average person can no longer afford average mortgage.
