This is my first time posting and I thought it would be relevant. So I got a student research job for 15/hr, full time, at my university for the summer. So, I went seasonal at the restaurant I work at, starting on May 23rd (my start date in the lab) and will come back in the fall. I told my boss this a month ago with no objections from him. Turns out Covid has been running through the restaurant and I tested positive on Friday (May 20th) so I couldn't come in for my final shifts that weekend. I called in, apologized, and the manager said “it's not like you wanted this”. I tell my new boss that I have to postpone my start date and he says “I hope you feel better. Keep me updated. I'll see if I can get you any paid sick time.” He followed through…
