So. I got this job doing returns/tracking orders for a car parts company. Small call center environment. However, people who have been there for a while tell me how much it sucks now with new management and how we are all just a number. Before I got hired 11 people quit because the company flat out said they didn't care about us. The pay is pretty good for the area I live in. They also sold last year to an investment firm I guess whos trying to take us from a big fish in a small pond and make us a big fish in a big pond and sell us off again. HR seems to not want to let people leave early or move their shift around if someone has a Dr appointment or anything else going on which is a red flag for me. They also stopped giving people…

Pay deduction for COVID time?
Just started at this company almost 4 weeks ago, I contracted COVID at the end of my 2nd week and missed 4 days at the start of the 3rd week. I emailed my employer to let them know and they said something very strange that basically implied if I took medicine I could come into work without missing? Took the 5 days anyhow because I was too sick and didn’t want to spread I recovered and came back 5 days after diagnosis. I get a note on my desk saying the pay for the time off will be deducted from the next paycheck, but like, I’m a salary employee? Can they legally do that? Genuinely not sure. This company does so many shady practices, it wouldn’t surprise me if it was illegal.
Red Flags anyone?
Hi All, I graduated from uni last year with a bachelors in business admin with a designation in accounting. The plan was to work in accounting and get my CPA. A few months after graduation I was hired for an “accounting role”. It was at a mid sized (25 mil in revenue) industrial company, I interviewed with the owner and he told me this is a great opportunity to get my hands on different areas of accounting, lots of opportunity for growth. Long story short 10 months in, all I do all day everyday is just invoice customers. Literally just 8 hours of data entry. Whenever I used to ask for more work they would just hand me data entry related stuff, so I've just stopped asking altogether. The invoicing honestly takes maybe like 3 hours if I go at it and then for 5 hours I'm pretending to be…
The FED wants you to be in poverty
I started this job a year ago they said there are raises every 6 months, well I’ve been here a year already without any raises after asking over and over again. I keep getting the same “ I will look into it”or that they are waiting on hr response. Today I saw in my team chat that the newer employees got a sign up bonus of 300 or 400 and I was so upset about it. I’ve been looking for a different job but no luck and everything wants a degree which I never have the money or time to go to school being a full time employee with a young kid. I’m just so over it and feeling hopeless I wish this wasn’t how I had to live life begging for money. I’m super behind on bills I only make 2200 a month my rent is 1100 and bills…
“Side Hustles”
has anyone found any that actually were productive? i was thinking since i like thrift store shopping i could look into reselling movies, books, random cheap stuff, furniture, whatever but is that profitable if there's only 4 stores in town to buy from? i dont have the startup capital needed for lawncare or some of the labor intensive hustles.
