Mass shootings are a hot commodity
Exactly my thoughts
is this legal in the UK?
So, i am working for Just Eat as one of those bike riding delivery guys in Birmingham. I started out on a zero hour contract but, because they only guaranteed a certain amount of hours in part or full time contracts, I changed my assingment from the agency to a 32 hours full time one so I have those hours guaranteed. For next week i got 24 hours and I complained in email. They answered that even tho they said in the contract that there is a minimum of 32 hours i have to work a week, they don't actually have to give me those hours because allocation of hours depends on the needs of the business. I wish I could upload screenshots but if I try and add pics it deletes the text.
So working my first job without holidays off other then Christmas Day and Thanksgiving Day. I do have floating holidays but it's still not time off with the family. It's especially hard because we've got a baby boy on the way any day now. Everything else is pretty reasonable about the company actually, but I just can't get my head around no holidays. Anyone else like that?
From an evolutionary perspective, the humanity is heading for a disaster. At the primitive level, we are going from monkey brains full of life with emotions, feelings and observations to monkey brains with no emotions and feelings at all. Our primitive human brain has three ways of learning – emotions during childhood(strongest), feelings during adolescence(stronger) and observations(strong) during adulthood. With the modern lifestyle, we’ve already lost emotions to an extent and now we are losing feelings too. After losing feelings, most of us are getting very strong at the observation skills (analytical skills) – which describes the modern psychopathy capitalism structure; and some are losing the ability to observe – which completely stops the body’s will to live – cause the evolution wants to weed them out to make the species intelligent and better. From an evolutionary perspective – when someone loses emotions, they get depressed – they can’t reproduce,…
Hi. I'm the sole breadwinner between me and my disabled partner and I have been for the past eight years. In the 12 years since I entered the work force, I've never held a job for longer than two years. I couldn't finish college, I couldn't go to trade school, I jumped around in retail work for a very long time until someone finally helped me get my foot in the door doing phone-based customer service. I thought this was great. I seem to do better when work has a lot of “down time”. Some background – I'm adult ADHD and possibly on the autism spectrum (both of my brothers are, and the oldest is unable to work at all because of it), and have a lot of difficulty with number sequences. I also have pretty severe major depressive disorder. My only passion is art and writing. I actually have…
I wonder what they teach in HR degrees….
In my workplace, like a lot of others, there's a worker shortage and it is going to get worse with gas prices. They negotiated a contract for new hires to come in at $1 less an hour and called me to say 'not to say anything.' I am irritated that they asked. I am even more irritated at the fact they couldn't understand that I was upset about it. 'You will be making the same amount, I don't understand why you're upset.' I make just enough to get by. By no means is anyone crushing it there. I just don't like seeing other people get screwed over.
